1. Stop Reading About Blogging And Take Action To Make Money
One of the problems many of us get into is trying to learn everything about something before acting. While learning about something is important to have success, it can also be paralyzing. We can get into the trap of reading article after article or watching video after video. Soon, we find we have information overload and don’t know where to start. We have so many ideas and methods that we can’t form a plan and implement it.
The rest of the steps in this plan will help you stay on track and accomplish the necessary tasks so you can make money blogging fast online. Stick with it, and perform each task to reach your goal!
2. Choose Your Niche, Subject Matter
This task can be the easiest or the most daunting. Why?
Well, choosing a niche involves 3 important factors.
– What do you know about or who can you tap into that can supply the adequate knowledge, or what product/service can you sell
What does this mean? Basically, you have to be able to offer something. Often, what you have to offer is either knowledge, whether it’s your own or someone else, or products and services. So, think about- “What can I offer?”
– What opportunities are there to make money blogging fast in what I have to offer
There are many ways to make money off your website/blog. Some are definitely more more lucrative than others. And some take longer than others.
The fastest way to make money is to offer some type of service, consultation, or product. If it’s your own, even better, because you can make 100% of what you sell. But you can also sell other peoples goods and services. The point is to think about how your going to make income from your site idea and determine if it’s worth it. If it’s not going to be profitable enough, try another idea or think outside the box and find unique ways to make a profit.
For example, if you love to mow grass, you’re probably going to have a tough time making money on a blog about that subject because there just isn’t enough interest in it.
But what about expanding your thinking and making a lawn and garden blog. To make money fast, start a lawn mowing service and market it through your local community and social media where you direct people to your website. In the site, you can teach people about how to plant, grow, and take care of their lawn and garden and you offer your expert services. People will see you as an expert and go to you to take care of their lawn and garden.
Though locally offering these services, you can also offer things nationally. Through your site you can sell various products through drop shipping and run ads for other businesses that trying to sell their products. In this way, you can start making money quickly through your local service but drive traffic to your website locally and nationally, while steadily gaining followers.
You see, through writing good articles in your niche and tailoring your blog to be search friendly to search engines like Google, you build authority as a worthy website. Over time, these search engines will rank you higher and higher, making you appear closer and closer to the top of their search page. And, in turn, your website will be found by more people who are searching for articles/pages written on these topics.
See, by being creative and expanding your business concept you can make many ideas turn into being profitable, in this way you can reach your goal to make money blogging fast. Otherwise, a blog about a love for mowing lawns won’t be anything more than writing about your passion online.
– What are you passionate about or interested in
Speaking about passion- what are you passionate about? Or, at least, what keeps you motivated enough to stick with this endeavor? If you don’t have a strong enough interest in what you are offering, your desire to press on will die out, especially when you hit obstacles.
These 3 areas will help you determine the best niche for you. It’s the combination of knowledge on your subject, the ability to profit from it, and your passion for it.
3.Sign up for a web host and choose your website name
What is website host?
A website host is where all your information is stored to run the website/blog.
A good way to illustrate this is by using an example of your computer. In your computer/laptop you have a place to store information- programs, pictures, data, etc. Whenever you want access to those, you, simply, turn it on and open up the item your looking for.
The same is true for your website. The host company will store all your website information for you so that your visitors will have access to your site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Choose a website host and sign up
Now, this step is one of the simplest but can be really over thought by many newbies (including me). Why? Because we get caught up in trying to find the best one. Let me assure you, I spent hours and hours and hours looking for the best hosting company for my websites, one with the ability to grow with me as my site and visitor volume grew.
Do yourself a favor, and go to Siteground now and sign up. This is one of the bests host out there. I, personally, use Siteground. They are known for great customer service, a wide variety of plans to grow with, maintaining site up-time, reasonable prices, and delivering speed to your website’s responsiveness. You can get started very cheap by choosing one of their bottom tier plans and move your way up later.
(To help support the information provided in this website, we may receive compensation from the companies mentioned.)
Name your website
While you are setting up your hosting account, you will need to choose your website name which called a domain name. I recommend choosing a name that ends with “.com”. It is the most widely recognized and search engine friendly. For example, this site is UltimateThriving.com.
Many names have already been picked over, so it may take a few tries. If you run into problems picking a name and it’s taking too long, many host companies will let you skip that step and come back to it later by setting up a “temporary domain”. By doing this, you don’t lose momentum and you can keep going because your getting close to getting your site up and running. Just remember to go back later and choose a new domain name after you have your basic site built.
4. Select your theme and page builder
This, again, is a simple thing to do but one that can be way over complicated. You can get caught up spending hours and hours searching for the best one.
First off, what is a theme and page builder?
A theme is, basically, the look and style of your website, and many companies have developed either free or premium themes for others to use.
A page builder is what it sounds like. It’s a tool used to make the pages of your website. You are, in essence, making your own theme.
Many bloggers chose either a theme or page builder to build their website.
Here’s the problem with themes. There are 1000’s of them to pick from and you can spend valuable time trying to find the perfect theme to fit your look. Also, there are numerous page builders out there but which is the best and is it worth building a website/theme from scratch?
Best theme and page builder
Here’s what I believe is the coming together of the best of both worlds.
Landing Page: https://be.elementor.com/visit/?bta=15643&nci=5383
A company called Elementor has put together, in my opinion, the best theme and page builder. With their tools, you can build virtually any website you envision and you can do it by several different methods, either, by scratch or by using their pre-built templates and modifying them.
My recommendation is to use their templates because you pick something similar to what you want, it’s already pre-built so you can see what components they used to build it, and you can quickly get a website up and making money.
I discovered this company a few years ago at their infancy and knew they had something special. 3 years later we hear a lot of people saying great things about them and they are one of the best, if not, the best page builder out there.
They offer a free version, but it’s very limited and without the very important templates. As of this writing, you can get started for $49 a year to build 1 website. And, if your like a lot of people in this business, you will probably build several sites. So they have plans for $99 a year for 3 sites and $199 for 1000 sites. Really, to me, it’s a no brainier. You can get started fast and make any site you want with Elementor. If you don’t like how it looks at some point, then just change it. I love it.
5. Build Your Website
Once you have your hosting company and theme/pagebuilder chosen, you can start building your site. If you don’t have those yet, you really need to get those lined up before continuing because you won’t be able to do any building without them.
Now, this article is not designed to get into the nitty-gritty of building your site. There are tons of resources through Elementor or through other avenues to give you that information. For right here and now, we want to get you installed and ready build!
3 Steps to Follow
- Go to your hosting provider (Siteground, if you chose them), down-load the free WordPress software, and add your new theme and/or page-builder to your site. If you chose my recommendations, then you will add the Hello theme under Appearance- Themes- Add New and then search for “Hello”. Install and activate it.
- If you chose the page-builder, Elementor, go to Plugins- Add New and then search for “Elementor”. Install and activate it, and follow the instructions to link the license you purchased to your website.
- Guess what! Your ready to build. Like I mentioned above, there are lot of resources to help build your site. I strongly suggest watching some videos on getting familiar with WordPress and your theme/page-builder. If you went with Elementor, they have some awesome videos on how to build pages which can get your basic website up in 1 to 2 hours. Now, keep in mind, this is the basic shell of your website. After you get the initial pages installed, you will need to spend adequate time tweaking and filling in the content for your own website. Draw it out on paper or white board and design it. Just don’t go overboard because you could spend days learning and changing and tweaking things. Keep it simple in the beginning and add or change things later. The main pages you want are a Home page, Blog or Article page, Contact page, Subscribe page, and About page.
6. Install plugins to help finish and grow your business
To be frank, we aren’t going to cover any more plugins right now. You installed the main one already through the Elementor page-builder. But just so you understand what a plugin is, I will very briefly explain it.
In a nut shell, they are extra/side programs which are free or purchased to help build and run a website. For example, they can be used to build an email list and maintain contact with the customer, to help market the site, to make the site search engine friendly, to created e-books, to sell your products, etc. The plugins are endless.
Unless you found something critical needed to get your basic site built, skip adding plugins and go to the next step. You will need some plugins in the future but not now. The next step will thrust your website into new territory worthy of visitors looking at your site now and putting you on your way to make money blogging fast.
7. Write 5 Articles And Post Them
This is a really critical part of your website. Why? Because this is where you prove your value to your audience.
You need to write content that makes people go, “Wow, this is great stuff! I need this!” Make it so valuable that they want more, and they want what you have to say every month or every time you put something new out. Talk to people as if you’re having a conversation with them. Make it personable.
Consider who your audience is and write to them. Speak their language.
Look up articles you enjoy reading, and analyze why they are enjoyable to you. I bet those articles look appealing to you because they have a lot white space. They are broken into small sections. And they have great visual aids. All these things you probably took for granted when reading. But they, actually, added to your overall good experience when reading the article.
Each, awesome, article you post will give you and your website more credibility, not only to your audience but to the big search engines out there. This in turn will help you to climb your way to the top of their page.
8. Monetize Your Blog
This part is where everybody is a little different. How are you going to make money blogging fast through your website? Well…..as we mentioned earlier, it’s up to you. It depends on your business. What are you offering? Products, services, consultation, information, or all of the above. There are a bazillion ideas on how to monetize your site. Learn some new ideas and think some up of your own. Make a plan, try the idea, analyze the results and then start the process over until you find the right money makers for your business.
A key aid in making your business profitable is in the next step.
9. Market your business
When you market your business you need to come up with a plan to reach your audience. Research and develop a plan to reach them.
Advertise to Audience
First, who is your audience? If you know who your audience is then you should also know how to reach them. Which means, what avenues/areas should your website be appearing that they are looking at? For example, do they use social media? If so, how can I reach them there? Do they watch YouTube videos? If so, what are they watching and how do I show up there? Is there an e-mail list with my type of audience? What about advertising locally, or even nationally, through the internet, billboards, TV, radio, social media, etc? Yes, some of these can cost money and, even, some what expensive. But depending on what your offering and your exposure, it could more than be worth it.
What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Why It’s Important
A separate entity in itself is SEO, Search Engine Optimization. Some website owners use this, and only this, to drive traffic to their site.
SEO is the practice of making your site into a haven for search engines. What I mean by that is when search engines, like Google, find your website and they crawl around, looking at it, they start to rank you. Based on their algorithm, they determine the ranking of your site. Content, authority, and links from other sites to yours are 3 of the biggest factors in that ranking.
An example of good SEO is used in this article. It’s Keyword Phrase. Within this article, I often used the phrase “make money blogging fast”. A search engine looks for recurring phrases. Then it determines if there is one or not and was it used appropriately.
SEO is a very technical and complex area to work through but one that is important to build on over time. Just know, that no website has high rankings out of the gate. It takes time.
The best way to approach it is to learn about SEO, use software/plugins to help you with it, and maybe even hire an SEO expert to help you with it.
Importance of Marketing
Because your site just doesn’t have the ability to pull in search engine traffic without ranking high, this is why alternate forms of marketing are so important in the beginning. You need to get your name out there through other methods and gradually build the search engine traffic trough SEO.
The point is here. Make a marketing plan. Then carry it out through advertising and continue to do that, along with the long term goal of having good SEO.
10. Make Money Blogging Fast
Hurray! The final and most important step! Show me the money!
Making that first dollar, whether it’s literally $1 dollar or $1000 dollars, is exhilarating. Why? Because you built something from nothing and you now know that if you can make one dollar, you can make another because someone believed in you and what you had to offer. Now you have the confidence knowing you can make money blogging.
Final thoughts on the Steps To Make Money Blogging Fast Online
I recommend getting through steps 2-6 as quick as possible. Try to push through those steps, be thorough, but at a fast pace. In reality, some people who already have a business/blog niche idea and follow the rest of the steps closely, can have their basic site set up in 1-2 days. Worse case scenario, it shouldn’t take more than one to two weeks. The faster you push through the initial setup of your website, the more motivated and accomplished you’ll feel. Seeing the shell of your website will inspire you to move forward. Don’t worry about your site being perfect. Just get the basic frame work in place.
Next, step 7 (Posting 5 Articles) should be completed in 1 to 2 weeks. Writing articles can be time consuming, but they are crucial to your success. You need articles for people to read. They need to see who you are, that you are credible, and worth their time. By doing this people will be willing to trust you, see value in you, and be willing to spend money on you or your recommendations.
So keep going! Keep pushing! Continue to Learn! If you do, you will be on your way to ultimate thriving!
